Hands-On Cheesemaking and Homesteading Skills in Ohio

In-person classes designed to help you build confidence in foundational homesteading skills from making cheese, butter, jams, canning food, and beyond.

Coming Fall 2025!

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to make your own kitchen staples—like cheese, butter, or preserved foods—but didn’t know where to start, these hands-on classes are for you. We’re starting with beginner cheesemaking classes here in Ohio, where you’ll learn how to make fresh mozzarella, ricotta, and other approachable cheeses in your own kitchen.

These cheesemaking workshops are designed for real life. You’ll leave with simple, repeatable skills you can use at home—with the confidence to keep going long after class is over.

In time, we’ll add more: butter, fermented sauerkraut, homemade applesauce and apple butter, and both water bath and pressure canning classes. We’ll also explore soap-making and other practical homesteading skills to help you live more sustainably and creatively.

I’ve been running an award-winning artisan cheese business for nearly two decades and have been preserving food for even longer—earning plenty of ribbons for canned goods at the local county fair and sharing what I’ve learned at workshops across central Ohio.

Now, I’m opening that experience up right here at home—offering small-group, in-person classes for anyone who wants to learn real skills, at their own pace, with ingredients you have on hand.

If you’re looking for cheesemaking classes, canning workshops in Ohio, or simply want to grow your homesteading confidence—this is a great place to start.
